‘Tween Eclipse Times ~ 20 May 2012

Personally, I couldn’t be happier that the highly visible in the southwestern and western United States annular eclipse is (just) over. I’m tired of the questions from Geminis and Sagittarians if that astrology book written in the 1830's about eclipses is true and if they are doomed to expire... or be cast away on an island where the wind devours all words spoken. Given my proximity to Kitt Peak and the fabulous astronomy department at the University of Arizona, the number of phone requests to stop by and pick up some of those eclipse goggles (not to be confused with Google eclipse) has been nonstop. I knew it was a good idea to stop and help the welder with the cactus thorn in his hand on the side of the road a while back. He had no money, but I did get a now useful welder's mask from him - perfect for eclipse viewing.

Not only that, the Facebook IPO has been a huge economic boost for me. No. I did not invest. But I did get six hundred ninety-four requests from investors wanting to know when to sell the stock based upon the charts of magnate Mark and the Facebook start up horoscope. It was great. I did one answer and sold it repeatedly. Talk about Gemini eclipse energy with Jupiter. There are opportunities in the chaos and confusion.

Seriously... a solar eclipse on the heels of massive solar activity and right before a Venus transit and a lunar eclipse! Saturn is coming back to a virtual opposition with Eris, and Makemake is inching closer to Saturn... enough for the three of them to put a tidy bow on some evolutionary matters. Ceres is coming up to Sedna and Asbolus as Jupiter prepares to abandon Taurus for Gemini. Oh yeah, Mars is now square Venus, always a hot aspect, and on the other side of the sky he prepares to square Pholus, Ixion and Hylonome and Orcus thereafter. How’s things for you in between the eclipses?

Solar eclipses occur when the Moon crosses between the Earth and the Sun. The Moon, representing the subconscious and thick emotions that truly motivate one into action, stands in front of the symbol of cogent, conscious thought. Does this suggest that the eclipse signals people likely become more emotionally reactive - at least until the next eclipse? Will people abandon clear thinking in the interest of staying off a reaction of some sort? If they are not aware of the pattern, yes. Add to that the newly proclaimed threat of so many more potentially hazardous asteroids than previously imagined, more potential financial weirdness and political agendas that fail to base their premises on reason... and evolution of the planet; well, it can be scary for some.

At the core, the eclipse can be symbolized by a railroad crossing sign. While the eclipse geometry favors emotional reactions, the signs of the eclipse promote thinking and reason... on a good, clear eclipse day, that is. Follow the sign at the railroad crossing: stop, look, listen. And while paused for reflection, think, clarify, calculate and recalculate. Better to do that than end up a feature of the evening news. Yes, repelling off a high building into a bowl of chocolate mousse seemed like a good idea to the job applicant, but...

Note the supercharged feelings of the eclipse. Decide an ideal course of action for this chaotic time and pull on the strand that untangles the ball of yarn... and only after scrutinizing observation. This eclipse is with Jupiter. Brilliant inspiration, which leads to fantastic opportunities, swirl about indiscriminately in the ethers, looking for a receptive, thoughtful cranium to occupy.

The Venus transit deserves more attention that I’ll give it here. So next week sometime, I’ll write a lengthier post about this unusual pattern. Suffice it to say for now, it’s time to sort through your beliefs about needs and wants and desires. Should you believe that those driven by wants and desires that are not primal needs work from a flawed consciousness, revisit your priorities in life, from the mundane to the spiritual to ensure your conceptions do not miss your personal evolutionary agenda. Nothing worse than missed-conceptions during a Venus transit.

Saturn, near his station point approaches an opposition with Eris, as does Makemake. On the collective level, the “occupy” movement gains momentum, especially in the light of recent economic fiascos. Clearly, the battle between insiders and outsiders continues in virtually every spectrum of life. Because Makemake is part of this pattern with any generosity of orb range, environmental issues, matters of global conservation and sustenance of resources given overpopulation of the planet become more a part of the conversations.

Personally, get out of situations, circumstances and clubs that do not further your life agenda. Again, it’s time to review how your participation in social media and technology in general advances your life. If the organization you joined with fervent enthusiasm to do a, b and c in the world, has changed to a, g and y, and if those agendas cannot be supported by your consciousness now, it’s to move on. Cull invalid and non-fulfilling allegiances and assure your allies share specific, nuclear and evolutionary common causes with you.

Ceres approaches Sedna and Asbolus. The Ceres-Sedna conjunction should establish renewed interest in matters of the oceans and sea creatures. It’s time to create an advocacy effort that not only details contamination and problematic regions of the world oceans, but mobilizes international cooperation to fix it.

Personally, Ceres to Sedna advocates realization of the deeper, perhaps even scarier reactions and ideas that lurk within one’s consciousness - you know those thoughts that crop up when strolling along the River Styx. Ceres will likely point out that a driving force in most decisions made by folks working to get along on the planet, comes from the urge to contain, control or somehow regulate the deep inner spring of consciousness. Actually, this creates a good news-bad news axis. The good news is: you feel what you feel and you want what you want. The bad news banner carries the same headline. The answer to the matter resides in Ceres to Asbolus. Advocate for your instincts. Trust your intuition. Believe in what you believe; if hesitation resides there, review. Want what you want and intend in the best ways to bring about successful manifestations of your needs, wants and desires. Ceres works to underscore one key point: it is a conscious choice when one reacts to one’s intuition and embarks upon a course of action.

Jupiter in Gemini begins within a few scanty weeks chock full of evocative transits. The grand master invokes a year of multiple choice questions at each of the many forks in life’s road. No need to fall to immobilizing self-interrogation regarding “is this a good choice I’m making?” Make a choice and work with it long enough to see if it’s leading where you want to go. If yes, keep on and with vigor and renewed intent. If no, select a new, improved destination and alter your course immediately. Perhaps you might proceed with parallel courses. If you track parallel life trajectories, establish clear priorities for each track. Likely one will be the mundane priority (the day job) as one heads off toward pursuits of passion and purpose (writing, acting, inventing, software developing, astrologizing or any of the Geminian gamut of fantasy careers). Throughout the next year as Jupiter treks along in Gemini, these posts will detail Jupiter’s passage to potent galactic points and black holes. Hopefully, these insights with give a leg and hand up over the competition. If not, at least some affirming inspiration can be extracted from galactic goodies as we go.

Finally, Mars and Venus form a right angle to one another a day or so before the Venus transit in the first week of June. This is a hot aspect. It is fraught with desire, passion, creative aspiration, and even a dash of lust, which the masters point out with evolved effort becomes something lustrous, instead of debased. This is a “go to” time when there is no “go to” person around to be assigned to the task. Yep, it’s up to you to go get what you want. Is that so wrong? Depends on whom you ask. Best just to ask yourself. Take a glance back into the psyche of Ceres and see how she pushes you to take a stand for your position in life. She really does want what’s best for you and works diligently to convince you that your gains - from mundane acquisitions to spiritual insights - just might make you a more content and evolved person walking about on the planet. Yes, it’s probably a good thing Mars is still in Virgo. This ensures a person follows pristine paths with impeccable intention and inspired innocence, which when combined with instinct, creates a healthy “right place at the right time” signature.

Mars soon after this pattern, the red planet moves into a square with Pholus, Ixion, Hylonome. The message here is fairly simple. Notice when second chances and missed opportunities reappear. Dive into them. Celebrate their appearance and presumed outcomes. Be joyous with successes and accomplishments and let the tears of joyous victory wash away long-standing regrets.

The astrological activity over the next weeks is unprecedented. Immeasurable gains in all arenas can be made. Such gains are likely to be made first by those tracking the patterns and/or by those trusting their instincts.

More soon on Venus’ transit of the Sun.
